Private Investigator Licensing – State of Mississippi
How do I obtain a license to conduct Private Investigation in the state of Mississippi?
Currently, there is no state Licensure in Mississippi in order to conduct private investigations. You do, however, have to hold a Business License in the city (if in city limits) or county (if outside city limits) where you reside, have an office or conduct your business. Check with your local privilege license office. The cost for a home based business license usually is around $25 per year. Also, depending on the type of business you hold, you may also have to file with the Secretary of State’s office for an LLC, Inc., etc. Please contact the Secretary of State for more information.*
